Life-sized Lightning McQueen to be Unveiled in by Disney and SM on June 19, 2017 to Launch CARS 3

Racers, start your engines and rev up for a rare treat as The Walt Disney Company here in the Philippines and SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc. (SM-LEI) launches the “Cars 3” Mall Event at SM North EDSA The Block Atrium on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 4PM. This is in celebration of the theatrical release of “Cars 3” locally starting July 26. Disney and SM plan to unveil a life-sized Lightning McQueen model as the centerpiece of the mall event. Former professional racing driver and actor Matteo Guidicelli will lead the unveiling of everyone’s favorite Piston Cup champ. Beyond the unveiling, the mall event will also feature fun activity areas where families and kids can play with and purchase the latest “Cars 3” toys from Mattel. The mall event will be open to the public.

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary champion finds himself suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. Suddenly, he finds his dominance in the sport, as well as the confidence that got him there--threatened by younger, faster cars. Determined to get back into pole position, #95 must decide if his love for racing is enough to fuel the comeback of his life. “Cars 3” features Owen Wilson as the voice of Lightning McQueen. Cristela Alonzo voices tech-savvy trainer Cruz Ramirez, who tries to help Lightning return to greatness, and Armie Hammer lends his voice to next-gen racer Jackson Storm, whose high-tech speed leaves Lightning McQueen behind.
