As movie-goers rarely do we as audiences see the actual transformation of real actors onto the big-screen. In fact, in recent years, the thin line between CGI and real-life is getting closer and closer to being non-existent. With "War of the Planet of the Apes", the fine animators at WETA Digital push the technology further. The New Zeland-based visual effects house has been the go-to guys for the past three films in the series. Giving Weta a new challenge, "War of the Planet of the Apes" features a butt-load more apes to capture (a dozen to be exact) - more than in any of the previous films. Additionally, they also are speaking with more sophistication and nuance and also marks the first time motion capture has been used in actual extreme weather, including falling snow.
