If you've seen "The Conjuring 2" then one of the scariest and iconic characters on that film is a demonic nun that haunts the Lutz family. James Wan is back again in making sure humanity remains uncomfortable and creeped out as he explores and expands on the demonic Nun's origins with “The Nun”. When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in “The Conjuring 2”, as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.
Being produced by Wan, the film is being led by award-winning director Corin Hardy. The film has already begun production on location in Romania and is set for release on July 13, 2018. “The Nun” stars Demian Bichir as Father Burke, Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene, Jonas Bloquet as local villager Frenchie, Charlotte Hope as the abbey’s Sister Victoria, Ingrid Bisu as Sister Oana, and Bonnie Aarons, as the title character.
“The Nun” is a New Line Cinema presentation, an Atomic Monster / Safran Company production, and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
