'Lupin the Third' Live Action Film to be Screened Exclusively by SM Cinema on September

After the widely-successful releases of Japanese films like "Rurouni Kenshin" and its sequel, "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" in the Philippines comes another live-action adaptation of one of the most iconic anime and manga comics a majority of Filipinos should still remember. Yes, "Lupin the Third" or also known as "Lupin III" is slated to get an exclusive release at SM Cinema on September 17.

The movie, already four years in the making, stars Shun Oguri as the titular character of Arsène Lupin III, who's considered as the No. 1 thief in the world. Tetsuji Tamayama, Gou Ayano, Meisa Kuroki, and Tadanobu Asano also star as the supporting cast. In the movie, the gang will attempt to retrieve the Crimson Heart of Cleopatra, which allows its owner to control the world. The film touts to be a modern and contemporary update to the series which started it's first-run in 1967.

Again, "Lupin the Third" opens exclusively at SM Cinema branches nationwide on September 17, 2014.
