Sony Japan has just announced that the Playstation 3 will have a new firmware update come September 21, 2010. The 3.50 Firmware will add 3D Blu-ray support and will be initially available only for Japan owners. Luckily for us, Sony didn't jump the bandwagon and rename their current "it only does everything" console into Playstation 3D. You can see the announcement (in Japanese unfortunately and thanks to Engadget for this) after the jump.
Looks cool but you should have a 3D enabled HDTV and those do not come cheap at all. At least Sony's giving the firmware update for free! What's your thought on this? Should people jump the 3D bandwagon even at home?
