A high school basketball team led by a young phenom named LeBron James had become the talk of the city, and Belman, a film student at Loyola Marymount University, decided to chronicle their season on camera. Not knowing that he is actually chronicling the life of a future superstar. After six years of shooting footage and interviewing players and their families, Belman realized he had the makings of a feature-length documentary.
